We Traveled after church last week to visit my mother. As we drove down I-71  we were fascinated by the farmers working into the night to harvest what looked t be a bumper crop. The harvest is a wonderful site, but only a farmer can appreciate the unseen work that had to be done to bring about such positive results. The ground first had to be cultivated and seeds had to be planted. How silly it would be to expect a bumper crop without the planting of seeds.
As I travelled down the highway I began to think of my very own little Mother. She is proud of her six children. She has two daughters who have worked as administrators of churches as well as a christian university. Her oldest son has served on district boards and committees for many years. Her remaining three sons have pastored churches, served on the mission field and as a district superintendent for a cumulative total of more than ninety years. I often wonder how we would have turned out if Mom would have just stepped back and said to herself “I sure hope somebody influences my kids for Christ” without sacrificially cultivating our hearts or sewing Gospel seeds.
Question:Â Have you planted any seeds lately?
